Kristina Kugler has been editing for over two decades and specializes in science fiction and fantasy for all ages and in contemporary YA fiction. Her career has included work on literary magazines, for educational publishers, for self-publishers of various stripes, and for SFF publishers like Dragonsteel Press and Mainframe.
Portfolio Highlights: Kristina line edited Rhythm of War and Dawnshard by Brandon Sanderson and line edited or copyedited collaborations between Sanderson and authors Janci Patterson (Sunreach, ReDawn, Evershore, and Bastille vs. the Evil Librarians), Steven Bohls (Lux), Mary Robinette Kowal (The Original), and Jackson Lanzing / Collin Kelly / Nathan C. Gooden (The Dark One). She also copyedited the Tankborn trilogy by Karen Sandler.
Education: Kristina graduated from Brigham Young University with a BA in English and a minor in Computers in the Humanities, then went on to earn an MA in English from BYU that focused on family folklore.
Taste & Personality: Kristina loves SFF for all ages (MG/YA/adult) and contemporary MG and YA. She loves a rapid adventure and is a sucker for historical fantasy mashups, especially those in the Regency era or with a steampunk vibe. Airships are awesome! She crochets amigurumi, costumes for elementary school plays, and parents two kids.
